Proven Process for Delivering Excellence 

After your contract is executed, we move into the Project Management phase of your kitchen and restaurant build. This starts with introductions to the Rapids Foodservice Contract and Design Project Management Team, which typically includes our Project Manager, Project Coordinators, and Project Administrators.

The Project Manager takes the lead role in the overall coordination and execution of the design. Communication is vital in this process, and critical decisions often need made quickly to stay on schedule, on budget, and in accordance with our Proven Process.

Working alongside our award-winning Project Managers are the Project Coordinators—the active force that brings your vision to life. Referencing the design, Project Coordinators facilitate the procurement of the equipment needed to accommodate your menu. They must verify rough-in and utility details and coordinate equipment shipments to align with the overall project schedule. This requires a great deal of knowledge, problem-solving skills, and constant communication between our team, the general contractor, the manufacturers, the installers, and the tradesmen on the site.

Our Project Administrators scrutinize all the documentation—Purchase Orders, Invoices, Project Schedules, and Design Paperwork—with incredible attention to detail. Rapids Contract’s Project Administrators make sure no “t” is left uncrossed or “i” un-dotted until the work is complete.

Finished Kitchen & Smallwares Service & Support

When the appliances are installed and the space is clean and ready for service, our team will coordinate the training of your staff on your new kitchen’s capabilities. You can count on our support for the first full year to provide you with any additional assistance you may require for your new kitchen equipment.

Rapids Contract also supports your needs with a dedicated division for smallwares. You always have help available from our full-service sales team and 24-hour purchasing website—with a guarantee to ship “in stock” products ordered by 3PM weekdays. You can opt to pick up orders and shop in our retail store locations, too.

Finally, our service division stands ready to assist anytime you require preventive maintenance or repairs of your equipment.

University of Iowa Stead Family Children’s Hospital

One of Rapids Contract’s strengths is our on-site management and coordination of the buildout process. This oval building’s kitchen and café features high-end contoured walls and counters, which required custom fabrication of stainless steel prep tables, solid surface countertops, equipment enclosures, and flooring. While the all-electric equipment simplified power supply to the space, our constant presence during construction ensured a good workflow between the trades for the installation of counters, soffits, and terrazzo flooring. The result is a perfect fit for prep tables, food displays, countertops, and all of the variables in this custom design.
