Nominator: Matt Faber

For: Being a Problem Solver

Troy is always willing to help and he jumped in to help our new customer Encore Restaurants even though the customer isn’t live with service yet, which can be a challenge. Troy and I have worked together for almost 14 years and he’s never let me down and this time is no different. I was in need of finding a contractor in Sacramento regarding a water issue Five Guy’s Restaurants were having and needed help to get it resolved ASAP as the water was running over into another property in the strip mall. Since we just signed this group the challenge is we are in the middle of setting them up and we didn’t have contractors for this particular issue in our vendor list which makes it tricky to #1 Find a contractor that is NEW to CRS AND the customer and #2 Make sure we service them properly before all the programming is set up on their account. This group won’t be live for service until August 1st, so this is really a challenge. When I was talking with Troy Tuesday night I mentioned this issue and wanting to help the customer and of course, he said: “I’ll be happy to help”. Sure enough the next day we had a contractor on site to determine the problem and the customer was delighted! Thank you, Troy, the customer is thrilled with our service and we haven’t even started yet!

Words from our Vice President, Eric Schmitt:

One of the things that I personally love most about working with this company is the willingness of our team to help each other out when they need it even if its not “their role”. Troy’s win is a perfect example of this and it is but one of many times that he has demonstrated his ability to “be a problem solver” for his teammates. While we all know that we can get extremely busy and frustrated at times, the burden is much easier to bear when your team is in it with you. Troy’s example is one that we can all look to and reminds us of all of the times we have gone outside our core business group to help a peer. Whether it be Star scrambling a tech out to a Rapids contract customer project or CRS helping locate an installer for a web or catalog sale, we have always found a way to support each other. Troy could have easily determined that this was not his responsibility but he knew his team needed the help he could provide and he didn’t hesitate to offer it. I hope we can all take a moment to think of a time when our coworkers have done just this thing for us and realize just how lucky we are to be in an organization that really takes our values to hear when helping each other. We thank Troy for giving us a stellar example of how we can help one another!

Prize:

For his win, Troy will be receiving an incredibly soft and comfortable “Mind Your Ping” t-shirt and entered into our Year End Employee of the Year voting. Thanks again, Troy, and all of the incredible Rapids & Affiliates team for the work you do every day to Deliver Excellence in Every Moment!
