Our focus in on the quality of the work and the beauty and functionality of the finished project.
Once your facility’s space has been roughed-in per the design, and the trades are nearing the completion of their work, we enter the installation phase of your project. For this purpose, Rapids has recently acquired a service and installation powerhouse with a long and storied history in our area: Star Foodservice Equipment Repair. This acquisition completes our ability to be a “one stop shop” for bringing your concept seamlessly to fruition.
The installation team will work very closely with the Project Manager to coordinate the preparation and installation of your equipment package according to the overall kitchen design and project timeline.
We make sure your kitchen is up and running as soon as possible through a focus on expedient delivery and protection of the equipment package, expert installation, and constant communication with the project manager. We have redundant Quality Control practices in place for your peace of mind.
The installation team is responsible for these 6 primary duties:
Delivering or receiving the delivery of your equipment on site.
Uncrating the equipment and carefully inspecting the equipment for any damages that may have occurred in transportation from the factories.
Assembling the equipment per the factory specifications.
Setting the equipment in the proper locations per the overall design.
Once utility connections are roughed in and ready, connecting to the applicable utilities within our scope. (Like connecting the gas equipment connectors to the installed gas line leads installed by the pipefitters).
Then, once authorized by the manufacturers, proceeding to start up and test the equipment for proper functionality according to the manufacturer’s specifications.
These duties apply to all projects regardless of the size. Our scope of installation expertise runs from massive industrial walk-in cooler and freezer set ups (including remote refrigeration), and full hot side exhaust hood set ups – all the way down to the placement of small countertop equipment units like microwaves and toasters.
Our installers are capable of both managing large, complex tasks as well as executing on the very finest details. Like the simple, yet critically important, task of applying silicone to equipment adjacent to walls to maintain your NSF standards. We also apply—and remove when complete—protective film to protect the surfaces of all equipment throughout the installation process. A simple task that pays big dividends.
On the jobsite, we consider safety a key component. We adhere to OSHA requirements and are proud members of CFESA. And as for workplace tidiness: know that it is our goal to leave every worksite cleaner than when we arrived.
