Foodservice Equipment Reports recently published an article on top-selling ethnic equipment and the growing importance of multicultural menus to consumers. Rapids’ Customer Service Manager John Collision was one of industry insiders chosen to share the trends they’ve noticed.
John submitted several suggestions on popular items, including panini grills, rice cookers, vertical broilers (for gyro meat), cheese melters/broilers (for garlic bread, toasting, and keeping plates warm), and fresh-o-matic steamers (for keeping tortillas hot and fresh). These were a close match for what others in the business have noticed, as all but cheese melters were included in the article.
These equipment pieces are a good way to experiment and find what works best for your establishment, as most can be used for both ethnic and non-ethnic foods.
