Saydel High School

Saydel High School is located in Des Moines, IA. This project was a renovation of an existing space for improved efficiency and throughput. With layout and design modifications, along with a state-of-the-art equipment package, we were able to easily obtain these goals.

As part of the enhancement for customer flow, the serving areas were redesigned from a single file student line to a scatter system. Students can now decide upon entry if they want to be served the main entree or if they would prefer ala carte service or specials. By bifurcating the hungry students, they can be served much more quickly.

Use of hot/cold wells allows for much more flexibility and efficiency in serving. The same unit can be used to showcase cold foods for breakfast service, then with a flip of a dial change to hot service for lunch. No need to roll in new service equipment between meals, and no extra equipment taking up space. T&S Durapull faucets were also installed at the prep stations and in the dishroom to conserve water while maintaining functionality and durability.

It is also very green.
