Clay Carney - Contract & Design Specialist
How long have you been with Rapids?
What was your favorite project? Why?
Van Meter CSD. It was my first project. I learned a lot on how to make an attractive bid, and formed a good relationship with the schools head of food service.
What was your most challenging project? Why?
Independence School. We encountered unavoidable delays for the walk-in freezer and some special order floor drains from a couple vendors, and there were a couple damaged table tops that were not noted on the freight bill.
What was your solution?
I kept in constant contact with everybody about the delays and worked to find a quick resolution, and I was able to negotiate an acceptable discount on the tables.
