“Late Monday afternoon, a customer I had been working with showed up to pick up an order. Of course they arrived just minutes before the showroom was closing and had some follow up questions running us late. THEN this young K’wood kid shows up in a panic after the door was already locked begging to get in to get his knife kit. You could feel the anxiety dripping off him. Anyway, I opened the door and Malena was super cool and stayed late to make sure we took care of these 2 customers. I know she hasn’t been here very long, but this was a prime example of her willingness to already go above and beyond to take care of our people. Way to go Malena! Thanks for being so understanding.”

What makes this particularly awesome to announce is that Malena only joined the team weeks before this nomination! I would like to believe it was the inspiring training that Malena received for DEEM that put her in a position to earn this but I believe it is more indicative of the fact that Rapids found someone who already had some of the same values which we know are so critical to our success. Kudos to Malena for truly checking off what I know are a number of our key values including Putting the Customer First, Being Personally Accountable, and Minding her Ping. Many of our teammates are doing these very same things day in and day out but to have a newcomer step up and help the client and the team in the way she did is commendable. It should also be noted that Logan Bragg was also a part of this effort and displayed some of the very same values in getting the right thing done. Point to be learned, it is never too early to have an impact on the business and our clients. If you know that an action puts the customer first and is an action you are ready to be personally accountable for then go for it and deliver excellence!
