FeatherStone Senior Living, opening in 2024, will be a 130,000 square-foot assisted living facility in Iowa City with 120 apartment homes for assisted living and memory care residents. Located near Hickory Hill Park, the facility offers residents a serene environment while also contributing to conservation efforts with a land donation from Nelson Construction to expand the park.
Rapids Foodservice played a crucial role in equipping the bistro, main kitchen, club room, and memory care areas. Our team, including Mackenzie Beals and Matt Guillien, was integral to the successful installation and integration of the equipment. We collaborated closely with Nelson Construction and AG Architecture to ensure every detail was addressed, despite the equipment being pre-specified.

Some of the equipment installed included the Perlick Undercounter Refrigerator and Delfield Mega Top Sandwich/Salad Preparation Refrigerator, as well as specialized units like the Manitowoc Ice Maker with a water filtration system and the RATIONAL Combi Oven. This collaboration ensured that each space was optimized for functionality and efficiency, enhancing the overall environment for staff and residents.
In addition to its thoughtful design and equipment, FeatherStone’s location provides residents with the perfect balance of tranquility and convenience. While enjoying direct access to the peace and beauty of Hickory Hill Park, residents are just a short drive from downtown Iowa City, the University of Iowa, and various local amenities, ensuring they remain connected to the vibrant community around them.
