St. Joan of Arc Catholic School

Rapids Contract & Design partnered with St. Joan of Arc Catholic School in Bettendorf, IA, to design and deliver a new foodservice facility that would serve the needs of the school’s growing student population. The project encompassed 2,075 sq ft and provided a modern, efficient space to support daily foodservice operations within a carefully managed budget.

Our Involvement

Our team from Rapids Contract & Design and Advanced Foodservice Consulting developed the design and bid documents, coordinated closely with Russell Construction as the construction manager, and worked alongside Stafford Smith as the equipment dealer to ensure all aspects of the project were executed smoothly. The team included Solutions Engineer Luke Green, who also serves as a K-12 specialist, and Designer Christy Hodnefield, both of whom played key roles in shaping the space to meet the school’s unique needs.

A primary challenge in this project was balancing a limited budget while also managing input from multiple committees, each with influence on the design direction. Through collaboration, transparent communication, and a focus on value-driven solutions, our team delivered a thoughtful, cost-conscious design that met both functional requirements and the school’s long-term vision.

The completed facility now provides St. Joan of Arc Catholic School with a brand-new foodservice space that supports their expanding enrollment and enhances their ability to serve students efficiently for years to come.
