Trailside Elementary School opened in August 2024, merging the attendance areas of Garfield and Arthur Elementary schools. The school was built to serve up to 600 students, with four classes for each grade level from kindergarten to fifth grade. Currently, it has about 400 students, with space to grow in the future.
One of the standout features of Trailside is its all-electric kitchen, an energy-efficient and sustainable solution for schools that want to adopt eco-friendly practices. The kitchen uses advanced, smart technology that helps the kitchen staff cook meals faster and more easily.
A key part of this setup is the Combi Oven, which replaces both a steamer and a convection oven. This oven has intelligent cooking settings, so staff can prepare meals quickly and with more flexibility. The kitchen also has a 40-gallon kettle and a double-stack convection oven, both with smart controls that make cooking easier and increase productivity.
Another important feature in the kitchen is the Hatco Atmospheric Hot Water unit. This unit provides a steady supply of hot water for cooking, cleaning, and food preparation. Staff no longer need gas stoves to heat water, which saves energy and provides hot water instantly. This setup makes the kitchen safer and allows staff to work without delays.
Trailside’s all-electric kitchen shows the school’s commitment to being eco-friendly and efficient. The kitchen uses smart equipment that reduces energy use while making meal preparation easier.
