St. Ludmilas Church

The recent kitchen project at St. Ludmila Catholic Church showcases a perfect blend of tradition and modern efficiency. The church’s new 35,000-square-foot community center is now equipped with a state-of-the-art commercial bakery, enhancing the production of kolaches, a traditional Czech pastry.

The new bakery, part of a $9 million construction, boasts advanced equipment such as a 60 Qt Mixer, Water Meter (Hobart HL600 & Baxter WM600), Dough Ball Machine (Gemini GBE-K2), 1st in 1st out proofing machine from LBC, Dough Forming Process Improvement, 2 Automated Filling Machines (Unifiller ELF400), (2) Double Rack Ovens (Baxter Rotating Rack Oven), Conveyor Dish Machine, and Buttering Application Process Improvement. This setup allows the church to bake 120 dozen kolaches in just 13 minutes, aiming for a total of 120,000 kolaches for their first festival.

The design of the new bakery prioritized efficiency and comfort, incorporating air conditioning to create a better working environment for volunteers. The project not only supports the church’s longstanding tradition of the Kolach Festival but also positions the community center as a versatile venue for future events.
