Rapids’ Design Specialists Luke Green and Teran Melton took part in Foodservice Equipment & Supplies very first Tour the Trends, an event designed to illuminate current industry trends and educate the attendees on how variables can motivate your design and equipment selection.
Tour the Trends included both front- and back-of-the-house visits to a variety of establishments in Chicago:
- American Airlines Conference Center’s Home Plate Room
- Wrigley Field
- Maddon’s Post
- Big Star
- Mordecai + Hush Money
- Hotel Zachary
Each venue was an opportunity to see how factors like menu, space, target customer group, location, venue history, and the needs of the owners can be seamlessly blended together to create the desired atmosphere.

Trends typically take some time to work their way from the East or West coast into the Midwest; with attending Tour the Trends, it reaffirmed that even through we are in a small town in Iowa, we are doing similar designs and specifying like equipment as large metropolises.
