Foodservice Equipment Reports (FER) annually recognizes “individuals who have made substantial, career-long contributions to the [foodservice] industry” through Industry Service Awards.
This year, Rapids' President Joe Schmitt was one of the individuals presented with this accolade.
With 28 years in the industry, Schmitt has an impressive resume of contributions. In his various roles with FEDA (starting as a convention panel member and ending on the executive team), he has gone above and beyond:
- Prioritizing education at FEDA’s annual convention when he was serving as chairman
- Raising awareness among members of Congress about how certain issues can impact the foodservice industry
- Promoting diversity and innovation within FEDA by playing a key role in the creation of a new governance structure
Schmitt’s other foodservice affiliations include Channel Partners Group, XYZ Buying Group, and Commercial Food Equipment Service Association.
