The mission of Sweet Celebrations is to provide birthday parties to children in homeless shelters – something they would otherwise probably not be able to afford. They operate in the St. Louis/St. Charles area, and work hard to make the parties even more special by incorporating themes the children are excited about, such as their favorite hobby, TV show, or book. This organization also gives out tokens for other holidays (Christmas presents, Easter baskets) to keep the magic alive in other ways.
Sweet Celebrations plans to put the RapidsCares 2018 donation of $675 towards future birthday parties – they use donations such as ours to buy decor and presents, while generous volunteers take care of everything from setup and take-down to games and cake.
