How long have you been with Rapids?

Since 2005.

What was your favorite project? Why?

US Cellular Center – It was great to see what we could do to rebuild this venue after that nasty flood in ’08. I know the community is happy to have that venue back open and better than ever attracting new national acts. (Full disclosure – I’m a concert photographer by night!)

What was your most challenging project? Why?

2015 Rapids Wholesale Foodservice Main Catalog production. It was a monumental effort simply due to the scale of the project and resources available at the time, but hey I love a challenge, and I’m not afraid of any deadline.

What was your solution?

Buckle down and get it done. I kept a working checklist of pages and elements that I needed to get completed each day to meet deadline, and I hammered through them until they were done, grabbed some winks, repeat.

What do you like to do on a Sunday afternoon?

Take the dog to the tiny cabin, try to find a local music concert or show.

If we gave you next week off, what would you do with your time?

I would head back to the mountains, with more cameras!

What was your last “oh my god this is perfect” meal?

Recently, I had an amazing grilled sturgeon with avocado relish, strawberries, a bitter green salad, summer squash, with a sweet & sour vinaigrette at Cobble Hill here in Cedar Rapids. Chef Andy Schumacher was actually a James Beard Award semi-finalist; and you can tell!

Or maybe it was this killer burger I had in Rochester, MN. at a place called Newts. Bacon cheeseburger with peanut butter and jalepenos! It’s changed me forever.

What is your best dish?

Bacon wrapped sea scallops with sweet & hot raspberry relish. But I’m a bit weird.
